Nobel Banquet 1995

Evening gown. The full grey taffeta skirt has both dark and light tones. As does the draped pink bodice with a green-nuanced belt, finished with rosette-like flowers at the back.

Jewellery

The Queen is wearing Queen Sofia’s diamond tiara. With this she is wearing earrings with large diamond drops, inherited from Queen Josefina’s sister, the Empress of Brazil. Attached to the diamond necklace is a large diamond pendant, known as the Vasa pendant. The Queen is also wearing an oval diamond brooch.

OUR QUEEN – DRESSED FOR A NOBEL BANQUET
Year 2006 marked 30 years since Silvia Sommerlath became Queen of Sweden. It was, among other events, celebrated with an exhibition featuring the evening gowns worn by The Queen to the Nobel Banquets 1976–2006.
